Mission

Westminster Church is committed to serving the community in a variety of ways.

Food Pantry - Members of the church organized and operate a food pantry for the area in which the church is located.  Since it's inception we have served 648 different families (5849 people; 52,641 meals).

Vacation Bible School - Members from Westminster, in cooperation with members from Union Presbyterian and St. Stephen's Episcopal, put together a program for the neighborhood children.

Church World Service - In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina the Women's Association put school kits together.

Neighborhood Special Needs - The church building is used by an AA group and a pre-school nursery.

Summer Lunch Program - This program, administered by SICM, provides lunches for children 18 and under.

Union College Campus Protestant Ministry - Westminster was the driving force behind the founding of this program and the Church continues to support the work of the ministry.

Goose Hill Neighborhood Association - Westminster is an active participant in the neighborhood association.

In addition to what we do in our local church we also financially support the following missions:

SICM - Schenectady Inner City Ministry
Home Furnishings Program
Schenectady Christian School
Ellis Hospital Weekend Chaplaincy
